Flying high with poppers – but please not on the plane!

We asked ourselves whether you can actually take poppers with you on the plane. After all, you don’t want to give up your cherished habits even on vacation or on a business trip. Unfortunately, the answer is disappointing. Because poppers contain solvents (nitrites) and are therefore classified as ‘dangerous goods’. You are not allowed to officially carry these hazardous substances in checked baggage or in person (hand baggage on board). All products carried in hand luggage may be liquids and gel-like products up to 100 ml (maximum capacity printed on). They must be stowed in a transparent, resealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of 1 liter and presented to the security check. If there are critical or prohibited substances in it, such as nail polish remover with acetone, these may be confiscated and destroyed during the inspection. And quite apart from that: Every solvent evaporates very quickly and thus loses its effect as soon as the liquid is transferred to another container.

Conclusion: poppers are perfect for taking off. But unfortunately you cannot land on the plane with it.
